The Anglo-American alliance has mapped out its future with a fresh pairing for the V-Series.R Hypercars as the grid prepares for the 2027 campaign. Two new faces will step into the programme, replacing departing stalwarts as the team looks to cement its place at the very sharp end of endurance racing.
Out go Alex Lynn and Sébastien Bourdais, whose departures will mark the end of significant eras for the brand. In their places step António Félix da Costa and Ricky Taylor. They will slot right alongside returning quartet Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, Norman Nato and Will Stevens to complete a robust six-strong line-up.
For da Costa, the switch represents a homecoming of sorts. The Portuguese star previously raced for JOTA from 2019 to 2023, a golden spell that included claiming the 2022 FIA WEC title and an in-class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 ranks before graduating to Hypercar. Having spent this season with Alpine and scoring a rostrum finish at COTA, the 2019/20 FIA Formula E World Champion is eager to rejoin his old friends.
Taylor also brings serious pedigree to the garage. A two-time IMSA title-winner, the 37-year-old boasts 32 victories and 76 podium finishes in North American sportscar racing, alongside a recent outing with the team in Austin last month. For Taylor, a full-time campaign in an FIA World Championship marks a brand-new frontier.
Meanwhile, the exits of Lynn and Bourdais draw the curtain on stellar chapters with the machine. Lynn, 33, has driven for Cadillac since 2023, securing four pole positions—including a memorable one at Le Mans last year—and driving alongside Stevens and Nato to deliver the brand's breakthrough FIA WEC victory at Interlagos in 2025. Bourdais leaves behind an immense footprint of technical expertise and leadership, having anchored the squad's progress across its opening two seasons.
Leadership within the team is confident the incoming mix will keep the momentum rolling. Team Director and Co-Founder Sam Hignett praised the deep familiarity both newcomers share with the outfit, while Eric Warren, Global Motorsports Competition Vice-President for the marque, pointed to the established chemistry and race-winning pedigree walking through the door as the foundation for the next chapter.
