That is not racing. As Motorsport.com reports, NASCAR Hall of Famers Jeff Burton and Dale Jarrett did not hold back after Carson Hocevar allegedly brake-checked Austin Cindric three to four times, destroying the nose of the No. 2 Team Penske Ford and ending his race.
Hocevar, driving the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, brushed off the incident with a bizarre post-race explanation. He claimed he got lost for a second and called the dangerous move just Martinsville and just having fun.
Jeff Burton was completely unimpressed by that excuse. It is just ridiculous, he remarked, noting that a professional race driver cannot simply claim they lost themselves when anger takes over. Dale Jarrett echoed those exact sentiments, pointing out the long-term consequences of burning bridges on the track. You need help at places like Talladega to win, Jarrett explained, and drivers will simply refuse to work with someone who pulls stunts like this.

Things went from bad to worse for Hocevar during the event. Rival teams even accused him of spinning out on purpose during an earlier yellow flag. He ultimately crossed the finish line in 21st place, two laps down.
Burton highlighted that deep frustrations were clearly at play because the car was simply not good at all. Yet, both analysts stressed that leaning on the excuse of losing oneself does not fly in the highest form of motorsports in North America. This is not even the first time the young driver has drawn their ire, as both Burton and Dale Jarrett previously criticized him following an incident at Darlington involving Brad Keselowski.
