Here is a piece of news that matters: Ferrari have announced that Alba Larsen is coming back for a third campaign in F1 Academy, locking in her place on the grid for next season as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy. That makes the Dane the very first driver to land a seat for a third season in the all-female series, a milestone made possible by a rule change announced last year that is reserved exclusively for drivers who show strong potential for continued growth.
Larsen's journey with the program has been a steady climb. Signed by the SFDA midway through her debut season in 2025, she managed 10 top-10 finishes driving the Tommy Hilfiger car. This year brought a switch to the Ferrari car, and she recently broke through for her first podium in the series by collecting back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers' standings, with only two rounds left to run in Austin and Las Vegas. On top of that open-wheel progression, she also picked up her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Reflecting on the announcement, Larsen shared her perspective on the journey so far. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said. She also pointed to the momentum behind the scenes, adding, "Susie and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me."
"I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027," Larsen concluded.
