Here is some properly brilliant news coming out of Maranello: Alba Larsen is staying put, and she is making history while she does it. Ferrari have confirmed that the young Dane will become the first driver ever to contest a third campaign in F1 Academy, locking down her seat for the 2027 season as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy.
This whole continuation is made possible by a specific rule change announced last year, designed exclusively for drivers whose performances show strong potential for continued growth. It is a massive vote of confidence in a machine who has quietly put together an impressive resume. Back in her debut 2025 season, Larsen was signed by the SFDA midway through the year and managed ten top-10 finishes driving the Tommy Hilfiger car.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
She stepped into the Ferrari car this year and the results have only sharpened. She recently bagged her first podium in the series with back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort, proving she belongs right at the sharp end of the grid. If that wasn't enough, the 17-year-old also claimed her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Right now, she sits fourth in the drivers' standings with just two rounds left to run in Austin and Las Vegas. Reflecting on the announcement, Larsen pointed to the rapid growth of the all-female series.
"After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," said Larsen. She also credited the ongoing efforts of Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director], the fans, and her crew.
"I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027," Larsen added. We cannot wait to see what she does with a historic third year.
