Here is a wild piece of news straight out of Maranello: Alba Larsen is staying put. Ferrari has announced that the young Dane will become the first driver to ever contest a third campaign in F1 Academy, locking in her seat for the 2027 season while continuing her journey as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy.
This whole thing is made possible by a rule change announced last year, which grants a third season exclusively to drivers whose performances show strong potential for continued growth. It is a massive vote of confidence in a driver who was originally signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season, during which she managed 10 top-10 finishes driving the Tommy Hilfiger car.

Since switching over to the Ferrari car this year, she has truly found her stride. She recently claimed her very first podium in the series with back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort, backing up a brilliant racecraft that also brought her a first win in British F4 earlier this season. The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers' standings, with just two rounds left to run in Austin and Las Vegas.
"After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," said Larsen.
Reflecting on the milestone, she added: "Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director] and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me. I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027."
