Here is the thing, folks: history is being written in F1 Academy, and the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy is leading the charge. Alba Larsen has just been locked in to return for a third campaign in 2027, making her the absolute first driver to ever contest three seasons in the all-female series. That is a massive milestone for the young Dane, and it is happening because of a rule change introduced last year. That specific regulation is available exclusively to competitors whose performances prove they have the strong potential for continued growth.
Looking back at how she got here, the trajectory is wild. Larsen was snapped up by the SFDA right in the middle of her debut 2025 season, where she pulled off ten top-10 finishes driving the Tommy Hilfiger car. For this year, she made the switch over to the Ferrari car, and the payoff has been brilliant: she recently bagged her very first podium in the series by securing back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
The 17-year-old currently holds fourth place in the drivers' standings, with only two rounds left on the calendar in Austin and Las Vegas. If that alone wasn't enough to show her outright speed, she also grabbed her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Reflecting on the milestone, Larsen shared her thoughts on the journey so far. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," said Larsen. She also pointed out the efforts behind the scenes, adding, "Susie and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me."
She isn't done developing either, clearly feeling the impact of the environment around her. "I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,” she concluded.
