Here is the thing, racing fans: we are witnessing history in the making. Ferrari have officially announced that Alba Larsen will return for a 2027 campaign, making the Dane the very first driver to ever contest a third season in F1 Academy. She will continue as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy next year.
That third season has been made possible by a rule change announced last year. The provision is available exclusively to drivers whose performance shows strong potential for continued growth, and Larsen has certainly put in the work to earn it. She was originally signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season, where she pulled off 10 top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
Switching over to the Ferrari car this year, she recently secured her breakthrough podium in the series with back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort. The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers’ standings, with two rounds left to contest in Austin and Las Vegas. On top of that impressive single-seater resume, she also grabbed her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Reflecting on the milestone, Larsen shared her thoughts on the journey. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said. She also praised the leadership and support around her, adding, "Susie and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me."
"I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027," Larsen concluded. With her future locked in early, all eyes turn to how she closes out her current campaign in America.
