Here is some genuinely massive news from Maranello: Alba Larsen is staying put for a third campaign in F1 Academy, making her the very first driver to ever contest three seasons in the all-female series. She will continue right where she is next season as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy.
That third season is happening thanks to a rule change announced last year. It is a spot reserved exclusively for drivers whose performances show strong potential for continued growth, and the Dane has certainly earned it. Signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season after logging 10 top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car, she made the switch to the Ferrari car this year and recently broke through for her maiden podium with back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
The 17-year-old currently holds fourth place in the drivers' standings, with just two rounds left on the calendar in Austin and Las Vegas. On top of that impressive run, she also managed to score her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Reflecting on the announcement, Larsen shared: "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become. Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director] and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me."
