Here is the thing, folks: history is being written in F1 Academy. Ferrari have officially announced that Alba Larsen is coming back for a third campaign in the all-female series next season, making her the very first driver to ever achieve such a feat.
That third season has been made possible thanks to a rule change announced last year. It is an opportunity available exclusively to drivers whose performance on track shows strong potential for continued growth. The young Dane continues her journey as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, having originally been signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season where she grabbed 10 top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
Switching over to the Ferrari car this year, she recently broke through for her first podium in the championship by securing back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort. The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers’ standings with just two rounds left to run in Austin and Las Vegas, and she even added her first win in British F4 earlier this season to her growing resume.
Reflecting on the milestone, Larsen shared her enthusiasm for the journey so far. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said. She also credited Susie Wolff and the team for pushing the series forward alongside the energetic fans and her incredible crew.
"I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027," Larsen added.
