Turismo Carretera made its long-awaited return to Rosario after a seven-year absence, and the weekend delivered a massive shake-up in the championship standings. Mauricio Lambiris swept all the points on offer, driving his Ford Mustang to absolute perfection to claim victory.
Yet the smartest operator of the weekend was none other than Julián Santero. Crossing the line fourth in the final was more than enough to secure a crucial haul of points, launching him straight to the summit of the Copa de Oro with 116.5 points. Santero currently sits in a provisional qualifying spot via the 3 de Último Minuto method.
Meanwhile, previous championship leader Facundo Chapur endured a difficult weekend on track, managing to collect just 18 points in Rosario. Despite losing the top spot in the standings to Santero, Chapur remains the nearest challenger as the series nears its conclusion.
With the championship battle heating up as it approaches the finish line, the calendar moves forward quickly. The action continues on November 14 and 15 for round 14, marking the fourth round of the Copa de Oro at the Autódromo Ciudad Parque de Río Cuarto in the province of Córdoba.
